A kid with a baseball glove, baseball bat, and Yomiuri Giants cap in Japan in the 1950s. This is a scan of a slide from a box of found slides and negatives from Japan. Not sure of exact dates, but there were some slides in this box that were clearly dated in the 1950s.

Shirakawa-go Light Up Festival: 17 Jan 2015 por Rey M

Japan trip 2015 (Day 15) - Shirakawa-go
+ 23 days in Japan and what a beautiful country!
++ this is one of the events I have been looking forward and none of my expectations were aligned :D - first, it was snowing heavily, more like a blizzard, so it means really awful view from the Observation Mountain, however, from the ground level, the heavy snowfall created dramatic effects along with the concentrated lighting, this gave awesome views…the problem was the freezing temps and the snow flakes have accumulated on my camera/lens and has almost frozen my lens focus and the blizzard like snow is like sands in the desert…with all of these, still a lively atmosphere. :) Will come back next time!
++ Shirakawa-go is a UNESCO Heritage site, famous for its 200-300yr old Gassho houses. Shirakawa-go gets about 2metres of snow, when we were there, it was snowing heavily. I was after the Light Up Festival on the 17 Jan…
+ everything about Japan is awesome, from it’s people, architecture, culture and landscapes, is magnificent!
+ at the end, we didn’t want to go back to NZ :)
+ there is so much to do and see in Japan, whatever season it may be…

Huge long shotengai. Superb spot.
Couldn’t walk past these massive washing-machines without a shot.
Massive dynamic range in the street last week so HDR it had to be.
